Rice Propellers - On the leading edge of Propulsion
The First Rice Propellers were made in 1911 for the local fishing fleet in Mexico by Maximino Rice. As the demand for bigger and better commercial propellers grew, the Rice Propeller company expanded and adapted to become a leader in propulsion systems.
Today, Rice manufactures world renown propellers from 30 inch to 150 inch diameter (ISO 'S' class from 30 inch to 60 inch and 'Class I' and 'Class II' up to 140 inch) for the demands of heavy duty work vessels.
Rice is also a leader in nozzle systems with its highly touted Rice Speed nozzle System which is replacing Kort Nozzles as a standard in the Industry.
Rice has now manufactured over 25 000 commercial propellers and over 6 000 nozzle systems. Despite the variations in the marine market through the years and after competing in today's open and changing markets, the people at Rice Propellers have maintained their commitment to producing the finest quality propellers in the world. They continue to explore new technologies through co-operative programs with naval research, development centres and leading testing facilities worldwide. Rice has appointed Olds Engineering to represent them in the Australian region.

Ka Speed
Propeller
|
The Ka-speed was developed by
adding the advantages of skewed propellers to the traditional Kaplan
style. It was conceived to be installed in the
Rice Speed Nozzle for best
performance, but may be installed into Kort Nozzles.
Ka-speed offers you:
- Reduction on excitation level force of the propeller
- Better distribution of blades stresses
- Smooth and silent operation
- 3, 4, or 5 Blades
- 39" to 150" Diameter with any blade area ratio

Another example of Rice's most
advanced technology, the Kaplan style propeller is designed to be used
with a nozzle in order to give shrimpers and workboats more thrust by
considerably increasing the efficiency of a heavy loaded propeller when
working at low speed.
The Kaplan Propellers offer you:
-
Advanced Technology
-
High efficiency with nozzle
-
More thrust on heavy loaded
propellers and low speed
-
4 or 5 blades
-
Manganeze Bze, NiBrAL, or
Aqualoy
-
30" to 150" Diameter

Nautilus
Propeller

The Nautilus Propeller is
Rice's latest development. It's skewed design reduces the propeller
pressure pulses to a minimum level, allowing the smoothest and quietest
operation.
This is ideal for application where underwater requirements for noise and
vibration are critical
Nautilus propellers offer you:
-
Low noise and vibration
-
Smooth and quiet operation
-
Blade area ratio variable to
meet your requirements
-
3, 4 or 5 blades
-
ISO class "S" from 30" to 60"
diameter
-
Class "I" and "II" up to 150"
diameter

Based on the famous B-Troost
Wageningen series, the Delfin is a versatile Propeller used worldwide on
fishing, supply and workboats.
Delfin Propelles offer you:
-
hydrodynamic cross
section blades with integrated hub shapes
-
variable blade area to obtain
great thrust or more speed
-
3, 4 or 5 blades
-
30" to 150" Diameter

Titan
Propeller

The Titan is a Hard working
propeller built to take the heavy demands of tugs, workboats and
heavy-duty vessels. The blade area and sections are larger than standard
propellers, making it suitable for vessels with limited propeller space.
Titan Propellers offer you:
-
High thrust with small diameter
-
3, 4, or 5 blades
-
30" to 150" Diameter

Designed for pleasure crafts
and crew boats, the Crucero propeller has become one of Rice's most
popular models.
The Crucero will help your boat reach its top performance levels and
planning velocity while eliminating hull-damaging vibrations. It also
helps to provide a smooth and comfortable ride for you and your
passengers.

Available in 3, 4 and 5 blades
-
20" to 70" Diameter
